OHCHR convenes unprecedented dialogue of financial regulators with human rights advocates and mechanisms

On July 1, 2013, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in collaboration with the Center of Concern, held “Human rights and the financial crisis in focus: An expert meeting on promoting a rights-based approach to financial regulation and economic recovery.”

The gathering, which took place in the city of Vienna, Austria, took the unprecedented step of bringing together members of the financial regulatory and human rights communities for joint reflection on the implications of the work of financial regulators for rights-based economic stabilization, recovery and growth.
